If your Fire TV Stick has volume control buttons, you will then be taken through steps to set up your remote. If you select Enable Parental Controls, you will be asked to create a PIN that you will need to be entered before you can watch certain videos that have age restrictions.
Next, choose whether you want to enable parental controls. Your Amazon Fire TV Stick will remember your WiFi password, so you won’t have to enter it on this device again, even if you choose No. If you select Yes, it will only make it easier to set up new Amazon devices in the future. Then choose whether you want Amazon to remember your WiFi password. If the name displayed is incorrect, select Change my account. Then enter the code you see on your TV screen and select Continue.If you don’t have an Amazon account, select Create a new Amazon account and follow the on-screen instructions.

Next, enter your Amazon username and password and select Sign-In. Then use a web browser on another device to go to /code. Next, you should see a code appear on your screen. Once you enter your WiFi password, your device might take a few minutes to download any new software updates. You will have to enter your WiFi password letter by letter.
Next, enter your password and select Connect. If you still don’t see your WiFi network listed, then select Join Other Network and then enter your WiFi network name manually. Note: If you don’t see your WiFi network listed, scroll all the way to the right and select Re-Scan for Wi-Fi Networks. Next, press the Home button on your Fire TV remote. To do this, slide the back cover off by pulling it down. Then insert the provided batteries into the Fire TV Stick remote control. Note: It might take some time for your Fire TV Stick to load, but you will see the Fire TV logo appear on your TV when you are on the right HDMI channel. You might also have a Source or Input button on your TV that you can use instead. You can do this by pressing the Source or Input button on your TV’s remote. Next, set your TV to the HDMI channel that you plugged your Fire Stick into. Also, if you have a 4K TV, you will want to plug your Fire Stick into an HDMI HDCP 2.2 port if you have one. Note: You do not want to plug your Fire Stick into an HDMI port that is labeled ARC or eARC. Plug one end of the extender into an HDMI port on your TV, and then plug the Fire Stick into the other end. Note: If you don’t have enough room to fit your Fire TV Stick behind your TV, use the HDMI extender provided in the box. Also, take note of the port number, which should be labeled next to it. Simply plug the Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port on your TV. If you don’t have an HDMI port on your TV, you will not be able to use the Amazon Fire TV. You will usually find HDMI ports on the back or side of your TV. Then connect the Fire TV Stick to an HDMI port on your TV. It could also break your Fire TV Stick if you turn off your TV while your Fire TV Stick is in the middle of a software update. This is because your Fire TV Stick might use more power than the USB port on your TV can deliver. Note: It is not recommended that you power your Fire TV Stick with your TV’s USB port. Then plug the power adapter into an outlet. Plug one end of the provided cable into the Fire TV Stick and the other end into the power adapter. Plug your Amazon Fire TV Stick into an electrical outlet. Then press the Source or Input button on your TV’s remote to switch to the corresponding HDMI channel and follow the on-screen instructions. To set up your Amazon Fire TV Stick for the first time, plug it into a power source and an HDMI port on your TV, soundbar, or AV receiver.
